Poem of the week: Green to Grey.

Green grows the rushes...

Written by: RuthJames Anyagwa

Green grows the rushes,
Of my heart and each beat blossom,
With the thought of you it pushes,
Deeper and deeper you hold it ransom.

Enjoy it while it lasts-my slogan.
'Cause remove change-nothing stays constant.
But these rushes I want to stay-more than,
Anything can be good but these butterflies are pleasant.

I knew this day was coming.
You knew it more than I did.
Twas pleasant but I can't stop fuming,
You now treat like dirt my feeling that is candid.

Grey now grows the rushes,
And my heart filled with pain.
With glee my love he flushes,
Down the drain-every last strand he's slain

For a long time this once I was hit
Without a gun to my head-over heels I fell.
Slowly the light of my heart was lit
Short-lived but a good story here I've got to tell.
